Base Rate

For most edges with a standard hardness

$1.50 per blade inch

(minimum $5-6 for small blades)

For high carbon (and other harder steels) the base rate will be higher due to longer sharpening time.

Repair Costs

For repairing broken tips and damaged edges

+$5 for tip or +$1-2 per blade inch

Cost of repairs will vary depending on the level of damage and type of steel. The rates above give an idea of the cost but for an accurate estimate we will need to see the blade.

Tips for when you get your newly sharpened knives!

01

Rinse Well

A newly sharpened blade will naturally have microscopic metal shavings on it. Be sure to rinse and wipe any blades that will have contact with food before you use them.

02

Slice Gently

Most people are familiar with dull blades. A well sharpened edge will cut with much less pressure than you are used to. Start slowly and gently to get a feel of your new edge.

03

Enjoy!

A sharp edge is safer than a dull one. Dull blades are much more likely to slip. Enjoy your new edge that requires less force and is safer to use!

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you sharpen serrated blades?

No. We may in the future but for now we only do smooth edges.

Do you sharpen scissors?

Yes! Scissors, hand pruners, loppers, hedge trimmers, and most shears! Our only limitation is we cannot sharpen them if they don’t come apart or they don’t open wide enough to get around our grinder.
